The Natty Dresser Summer Look Book John

Eclectic Zebra

Eclectic Zebra

This summer we had the absolute pleasure of working with Albany premiere men's clothing store The Natty Dresser.  Oscar and Tamalynne (the owners and two of the Nattiest people I know) approached me with the idea of shooting a Lookbook for their summer line of clothing using local Albany celebrities as models.   To those gentlemen interested in the next one, all I can say is that this project is by invitation only so keep watching for a courier to arrive with your golden ticket to local fame. :)

This year's summer Lookbook featured some absolute characters from Albany's bustling downtown area.  The first character on that list is somewhat of a local legend and a bit of a ladies man, Mr. John Booch.  John has been on the downtown area's radar for quite some time and currently sells his unique brand of artistic sculptures and curiosities at his gallery, Eclectic Zebra.  One look inside his gallery and you know you're dealing with dynamic personality and it was that personality that made John a front runner to be chosen for this project.  It also meant that the wardrobe chosen for him could be a little more wild and could play to John's artistic nature.

Well as per usual the good folks at the Natty Dresser did a fantastic job of cultivating a wardrobe that really spoke to the man wearing it and once dressed, John simply came alive.  I work with models on a very regular basis and very few are as comfortable in their own skin as John is.  Between sets it was simply a pleasure to listen to John weave tales, tell jokes and generally be the charismatic individual who has become a local Albany legend.

For any of you interested is seeing more from our photo shoot with John I encourage you to pop in to the Natty Dresser and check out the amazing photo display hanging throughout the store.   And while you're in the neighborhood pop next door to the Eclectic Zebra and meet the man himself.  Who knows maybe you'll score an autograph!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more dirt on local area celebs turned models as we blog our way through through the Natty Dresser Lookbook project!
