Why Troutman Photography's Location is GREAT For You

Troutman Photography is located in the beautifully restored Flinn Block Building in downtown Albany.  Having our studio in such a beautiful building allows me to combine the freedom of outdoor photography with the predictability of a studio.  We place our clients in a real world environment, not a 10 ft background and photograph their family interacting naturally as they would outdoors.  This give us all of the benefits of an outdoor session without having to be concerned about the weather or worried about things - like traffic.

Indoor portrait sessions with Troutman Photography come with some very convenient perks that no other studio in the Willamette Valley offers.  Let’s look at why our location is good for you.

Perk #1

The Tin Roof Women's Boutique located just below our studio.  Did you forget to bring your accessories (bracelets? scarves?) to your photo shoot?  Or maybe your sister showed up wearing leopard print for god’s sake.  Solve all your wardrobe malfunctions with a quick trip downstairs to the Tin Roof Boutique.

Perk #2

Hip Chicks West is located right below our studio.  Neva at Hip Chicks has worked with us and knows how to get you camera-ready.  Did you know that you need a different kind of foundation and lipstick when having a portrait done? The folks at Hip Chicks do, and that’s why we love them.  With a quick trip downstairs you have your hair and makeup looking amazing and that means you’ll feel amazing, and that means your portraits will be….you get the idea.

Perk #3
No one likes to be photographed on an empty stomach.  So make the Brick and Mortar restaurant located downstairs from our studio your first stop before your session. One of Albany's trendiest restaurants for good reason the menu choices are on trend and the chefs keep the food consistently fresh, local and tasty.  Nervous about having your picture taken?  Stop in for the Brick and Mortar’s famous Bloody Mary bar on Sunday and settle your nerves.

Perk #4

Did your little one lose a shoe on the way to our studio?  Perhaps they fell down and ripped their tights?  No worries, just run downstairs and visit my friend Tiffany at the Sunny Patch Boutique.  With a huge selections of children's clothes both new and used the Sunny Patch is sure to have what you need.  Looking for a bribe or awesome photo prop? Sunny Patch also sells toys!

Perk #5

This one applies to our lovely boudoir clients.  CJ’s Lingerie just opened up at the bottom of our stairs and it has been a lifesaver for our boudoir clients.  Before, our clients would bring in lingerie that they hoped would work and sometimes it wasn’t as flattering as they had hoped.  Now our clients have the option of shopping downstairs with us and we can guide them through their lingerie choices.  Having a lingerie store in our building has been a huge benefit to our clients.

All of the perks above are located under the same roof as our studio but if you venture just down the block there's even more available to you…

Perk #6

Natty Dresser - Downtown Albany

Natty Dresser - Downtown Albany

Remember the old days where you could walk into a store and get exceptional quality men's clothes and out of this world customer service?  It’s back and it’s at the Natty Dresser.  Whether you need a tailored suit, a fashionable bow tie or quality, casual men's wear this is the place.  My friend Oscar at the Natty Dresser always has my clients looking amazing and he never ceases to amaze me with his style and fashion sense.  I highly recommend sending your man on a quick trip down the block to visit the Natty Dresser before a photo shoot.  It’s time well spent.

Perk #7 (It's coming...)

The Carousel.  At the time of this writing the Carousel is not yet complete but it will be up and running this summer!  Why do I mention this?  Because sometime children need a little bribe to encourage cooperation during a photography session.  We encourage using this as a bribe because it’s an experience they won’t forget and it’s sugar free.  It’s also just a two blocks from our studio.

Come visit downtown Albany and see the transformation it's undergone this last decade.
