Boudoir Photography at McMenamins

Boudoir Photography at McMenamins

Shooting boudoir takes skill, a firm understanding of lighting and posing but mostly it takes constant and ongoing training.  Clare and I are always looking for new techniques and new ways to shoot our boudoir photography so that we can produce the most on trend and beautiful portraits possible.

To that end Clare and I found ourselves at the  Kennedy School in Portland. The Oregon Professional Photographer Association hosted a class at the historic school turned bed and breakfast specifically dedicated to boudoir photography.  We spent the day comparing notes with other industry professionals as well as working with a live model.  Topics covered posing, lighting, editing as well as the accepted etiquette while working with your subjects.  It was a full day of aha moments for myself and Clare and we both walked away with new ideas and inspirations.

For those of you interested in the photography  training that the OPPA has to offer visit their website at oregonppa.org, Clare's an board member, feel free to ask her questions if you're interested.
