Mr. Wallace's Smashed Cake

First Birthday Cake Smash

Little Mr. Wallace turned one and we help him celebrate it in a huge way!  It's not every birthday that you get to eat a cake half the size of your entire body. That's why the first birthday smash cake is so awesome!  You get to even stick your toes in the cake without all your friends getting mad at you.  Try that on your next birthday and see where it gets you.

To get the party started we put together a set complete with cake and fake presents (can't have the real ones covered in frosting!) down at Bryant Park in Albany.  Most of the time we set up our first birthday sessions here at our studio but the weather was so amazing that it seemed a shame to waste it.  So with the sun warming our pale Oregonian skin we started with a rambunctious game of peek-a-boo.

The first thing they do is share - every time.

Then it was time to get to the main event and smash some cake!  Now here's the cool thing I've noticed after doing tons of cake smash sessions.  Instead of plowing into the cake and stuffing their chubby little faces, the first thing they do is share!  Mr. Wallace was no exception.  With a huge grin on his face he offered his mommy the first bite.

After sharing with mom it was time to get down to the business of some serious cake eating and smashing.  Mr. Man smashed the cake, stuffed his face and squished frosting between every cute little finger and toe.

And then it was nap time.  Look at these beautiful brown eyes.

All in all, not a bad day at the park if you ask me.  There's no better way to spend your day than helping a little guy celebrate his first B-Day in style.  I like to say thank you to the Wallace family for letting me be part of his big day!
